About The Position

As the AMS Media Planning Director, you’ll serve as a strategic leader at the intersection of media, technology, data, and brand — transforming how we activate our message across digital touchpoints and redefining the role of media in a playful, purpose-led company. In this role, you will architect and lead the media planning vision for the Americas region. You will develop groundbreaking, high-impact campaigns that drive brand growth, deliver commercial outcomes, and deepen connections with audiences across the US, Canada, and Latin America. Reporting to the Head of Global Media Planning, you’ll guide campaign strategy for key campaigns, develop strong internal and external partnerships, and ensure that our media investments deliver against both brand and commercial goals.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in digital and traditional media, with a significant amount of time spent in a regional leadership role at a top-tier brand, tech company, or agency.
  • Proven success leading media transformation, digital innovation, or data-driven marketing at scale.
  • Strong commercial competence with experience managing multimillion-dollar global media investments.
  • Deep knowledge of the AMS media landscape, ad tech ecosystem, and evolving privacy/regulatory environment.
  • Exceptional executive presence, with the ability to influence key collaborators and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Proven record of managing media agency relationships internally and externally.
  • Passion for building inclusive teams, developing talent, and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • A commitment to purpose-driven, ethical marketing in line with the LEGO Group’s values and mission.

Responsibilities

  • Media Strategy & Vision – Define and lead the LEGO® Group’s media planning approach for the Americas market group (US, Canada, LATAM), ensuring alignment with brand, marketing, and business objectives across markets, aligning with our global direction. Championing a data-driven, consumer-centric approach to media planning and buying that drives both long-term brand equity and short-term performance.
  • Investment Stewardship & Governance - Establish and ensure standards are met and followed.
  • Team Leadership & Capability Building - Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing AMS Media Planning team, while coaching local teams on standard processes, innovation, and executional excellence. This includes encouraging a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and continuous learning across both in-house and outside media agency partners. Drive cross-functional work across the Global Media team to deliver for AMS.
  • Partner & Executive Influence - Serve as the subject matter expert for paid media across the Americas, engaging with executive leadership, BU HoM, and external partners to drive alignment and advocacy.
  • Innovation, Tech & Ecosystem Strategy - Stay at the forefront of industry trends, technologies, and platforms (e.g., AI, retail media, cookie deprecation) to future-proof our digital media strategy.
