About The Position

The Director, Americas Finance serves as the regional controller for the United States and Canada, overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance activities across the Americas region. Reporting directly to the Global Controller, this role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information while driving operational excellence, standardization, and scalability across regional finance processes. This leader partners closely with Global Finance, Legal, HR, and business unit leaders to support strategic decision‑making, maintain strong governance, and ensure alignment with global accounting policies and corporate objectives. The Director provides hands‑on leadership to the regional accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Professional certification such as CPA
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3-5years’ multi-entity oversight
  • Strong understanding of US accounting, tax regulations, and financial systems; familiarity with Canadian accounting standards preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead accounting operations, month-end close, and financial operating.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of timely, accurate, and compliant financial statements for all U.S. and Canadian entities in accordance with GAAP and applicable local regulations.
  • Conduct accounting research and implement appropriate treatments to ensure compliance with evolving U.S. GAAP and regional regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment, ensuring effective transaction processing, reconciliations, and financial governance across the region.
  • Lead the annual external audit for the Americas, serving as the primary point of contact for auditors and ensuring successful, timely completion.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local tax requirements, as well as Canadian tax obligations, coordinating with external advisors as needed.
  • Serve as the regional controller for the Americas, overseeing all accounting operations, month‑end close activities, and financial accuracy across U.S. and Canadian entities.
  • Evaluate and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and control environments to ensure consistency, scalability, and alignment with global standards.
  • Drive process standardization across the Americas to support operational efficiency and global finance strategy.
  • Oversee cash management activities, banking relationships, and treasury‑related processes for the region.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of the company’s ERP system, including configuration, workflows, reporting, and user adoption.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to regional finance staff on ERP best practices.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement an expense management system for the Americas, ensuring alignment with global tools and processes.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate workflows, and enhance financial reporting capabilities.
  • Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support strategic decision‑making for regional and global leadership.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to support business initiatives, operational improvements, and growth strategies.
  • Lead or participate in special projects assigned by the Global Controller or senior leadership, such as developing functional P&Ls, supporting M&A integration from a regional accounting perspective (without owning systems integration), or enhancing reporting frameworks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Americas accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build capabilities within the team through coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Promote strong communication, alignment, and partnership across global finance and regional business teams.
