About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director, Market Intelligence to develop, evolve, and lead Market Intelligence (MI) - member, product, market, and competitive insights - functions to drive organizational learning and performance.In close collaboration with the Vice President, the ideal candidate will drive recommendations and lead strategic development of research plans that support organizational and division goals to create and establish a unified voice. This role is passionate about understanding credit unions’ needs and preferences, and how the organization can refine its messaging, products, and events to better connect with our members and other key stakeholders. Champions an insight- and continuous improvement organizational mindset, with an innate ability to quickly identify opportunities and link seemingly unrelated insights, while translating them into simplified actionable recommendations for advancements.

Responsibilities

  • Market Intelligence ·Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for Market Intelligence that aligns with the organization's mission, vision, and goals. Maintain a forward-looking approach to ensure innovation and best in class. Collaborate with key stakeholders to define strategic priorities. Develop, conduct, and present research, overseeing all types and aspects of analysis, including quantitative, qualitative, primary, secondary, and sampling. Stays current on trends in gathering intelligence to ensure the best research framework given objectives, resources, and constraints.
  • Oversee market intelligence efforts including but not limited to competitive analyses, market scans, surveys (NPS, member, product, etc.), in-person and virtual focus groups, and in-depth interviews with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Presents and communicates research plans and actionable insights that influence strategy and performance, translating complex insights into actionable plans for notable improvements. Tells the story of the data and insights by utilizing visualization tools including PowerPoint, dashboards, and other visualization tools to aid in understanding.
  • Aligns insight priorities and efforts with those of senior management, business units, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Has a deep understanding of organizational and departmental goals. Develops and reports key metrics to support these goals. Provides strategic recommendations to stakeholders to drive member loyalty and engagement.
  • Co-manages budget and recommendations for the strategic use of all market intelligence annual funding. Project Management
  • Able to plan for self and others to accomplish the right work, at the right time, and in the right way – working to help the organization properly identify and prioritize annual market intelligence needs through a shared roadmap. Identifies and articulates critical inputs to ensure alignment across a diverse group of teams, holding all parties accountable for the on-time delivery of inputs, deadlines, and meeting agreed upon project requirements. Also prioritizes ad-hoc requests.
  • Continuously improves the effectiveness and efficiency of the Market Intelligence team’s research and analysis methodologies, processes, and deliverables.
  • Develop, measure, and improve key performance indicators with input from other internal stakeholders.
  • Market Intelligence roadmap: Documents and prioritizes all requests in coordination with the Vice President, Marketing. Team Leadership and Development Provide coaching, guidance, mentorship and support to the team, conducting quarterly assessments and annual performance evaluations. Offer professional development opportunities and training programs to enhance staff expertise. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Manage work of Research Analyst, including overseeing their research contributions, developing their competencies, coaching, mentoring and other support as needed.
