Summary: The Director, Market Access Foresight is a pivotal strategic role within Global Pricing & Health Systems Analytics, embedded in the Market Access Intelligence & Innovation team. In this strategic role, you will build and lead a capability that delivers timely, high‑quality US and International market access intelligence—empowering BMS to anticipate disruption, respond with clarity, and make confident, forward‑looking decisions. You will design and evolve dynamic intelligence frameworks and outputs—such as dashboards, executive briefings, and scenario planning—that shape high‑stakes decisions across the enterprise. Acting as BMS’s rapid‑response and early‑warning engine, you will translate fast‑moving market, policy, and competitive developments into crisp, compelling, executive‑ready insights. This is a highly visible, high‑influence role that demands strategic judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and strong cross‑functional partnership. You will collaborate deeply with the Pricing Leadership Team, TA Access Leads, International Market Access, and cross functional partners to deliver integrated intelligence that drives action. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, health economics, public policy, scientific degree) preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, with direct experience in Market Access, Pricing, Competitive Intelligence, or related functions.
  • Strong experience across both US and International market access and reimbursement landscapes (required).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate market signals into strategic insights and recommended actions.
  • Proven experience operating in dynamic, ambiguous environments and building new capabilities or processes.
  • Strong project leadership and stakeholder management skills across a highly matrixed organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proven ability to prepare succinct, executive‑ready deliverables.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and to drive alignment across diverse cross‑functional partners.
  • Strong analytical thinking, business acumen, and ability to connect dots across disparate sources of information.
  • Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to BMS values.

Responsibilities

  • Market Access Intelligence & Strategic Insights: Lead the development, refinement, and execution of a scalable intelligence capability that monitors and interprets US and International market access and pricing trends.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner and “early‑warning system” for senior leaders, rapidly identifying developments with potential implications for BMS’ portfolio.
  • Provide clear, concise, and actionable intelligence outputs—including executive briefings, market updates, and synthesized insights supporting enterprise decision‑making.
  • Translate complex environmental signals into strategic perspectives, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Scenario Planning & Strategic Foresight: Develop and facilitate scenario planning that evaluates both portfolio‑level and product‑level implications of market, policy, payer, and competitor shifts.
  • Apply structured, repeatable frameworks to assess potential future states and their impact on BMS and its brands.
  • Process Design & Capability Building: Design and maintain agile, iterative intelligence processes (e.g., core reporting rhythms, dashboards, prioritization filters).
  • Establish and continually refine a practical intelligence infrastructure, including tools, sources, analytics workflows, and best‑practice routines.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with TA Access leads, International Market Access, Global/US Pricing leadership, and key functional partners to align intelligence outputs with business needs.
  • Collaborate with Policy, Government Affairs, Legal, BI&A, Commercial, and Innovation/Digital teams to ensure integrated perspectives and cohesive strategic responses.
  • Proactively engage with internal experts to validate assumptions and ensure intelligence is robust, balanced, and strategically relevant.
  • Rapid Response & Executive Support: Lead rapid‑response analyses providing timely, high‑quality insight on urgent questions from senior leadership.
  • Craft compelling presentations and narratives to support discussions with senior leaders, governance bodies, and cross‑functional decision forums.
