About The Position

The Linux and Cloud Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining Linux-based systems and cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security. This role involves system administration, cloud resource management, automation, monitoring, and supporting development and operations teams. The ideal candidate combines hands-on Linux expertise with cloud administration skills and problem-solving abilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in Linux system administration and cloud infrastructure management.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, shell scripting, and system troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services.
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.) in on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including compute, storage, networking, and security services.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of Linux servers and cloud services.
  • Implement and maintain automation scripts using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform for provisioning and configuration management.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies for Linux systems and cloud environments.
  • Perform regular backups, patch management, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to support deployment pipelines and cloud solutions.
  • Optimize resource utilization and implement cost-effective cloud practices.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and industry regulations.
  • Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
