About The Position

As the Director of Licensing Administration, you will be an integral member of our Sync Licensing Administration Team. This position will report to the VP of Global Licensing. In this role, you will provide leadership for junior staff, help shape our global licensing and accounting best practices,oversee our Accounts Receivable & Aging processes, and oversee day-to-day contract management services, including drafting the majority of our complex licensing Agreements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six to eight (6-8) years of licensing and/or contract administration experience, preferably with experience in the music clearance at music label or publisher or major film/television studio or network
  • Experienced knowledge of music clearance & licensing concepts. Understands copyright concepts as they relate to musical recordings, compositions, artwork, etc.
  • Experienced knowledge of Accounts Receivable & Invoicing procedures
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work while taking on a leadership role for junior staff
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong data-entry skills
  • Must be highly proficient in various computer programs including FileMaker Pro, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Access)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Handles and safeguards highly confidential and sensitive or proprietary information.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments at any given time and priorities them effectively and appropriately while adhering to short deadlines and maintain accountability
  • Establish and maintain important external alliances with clients

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing and issuing synch and master use licensing agreements for both Concord’s recorded music and publishing business based upon negotiated terms.
  • Coordinate with legal department as required on language inquiries, legal inquires, etc.
  • Negotiate, draft and manage longform template agreements with major licensees.
  • Oversee the team responsible for end-to-end Accounts Receivable process for Licensing, including but not limited to: preparing weekly reconciliation for cash received to underlying licensing deals,processing all direct invoicing requirements i.e., vendor set-up, purchase orders, preparing weekly Aging report, chasing past due clients, month end reporting, and resolving payment discrepancies and issues. Coordinates with our global licensing teams to maintain consistency in our licensing and collections practices.
  • Maintain Concord’s licensing handbook as required
  • Oversee and train junior staff as required
  • Raise and issue invoices for licensing deals
  • Enter all new licenses into the Licensing Database and ensure data in database is complete and accurate.
  • Following-Up on partially executed licenses and unpaid invoices
  • Data Entry (including document scanning), revising and updating databases and spreadsheets
  • Administering all aspects of document delivery
  • Act as internal point person on deals and maintain ownership and responsibility for deal once it has been confirmed
  • Perform any other duties and tasks related to the department’s role and responsibilities that might be assigned by the team’s management from time to time
