A little bit about our team: The Global Sync department represents recorded music sync rights for Warner Music Group's (WMG’s) artists and offers clients a comprehensive sync licensing service. They work to serve WMG's extensive catalog and the company's frontline record labels by strategically developing new opportunities in film, television, advertising, video games, and new media. Your role: The Manager, Sync Licensing Administration plays a critical, hands-on role in ensuring the efficient and legally sound execution of synchronization licenses and invoice issuance for Warner Music Group's extensive catalog. This position involves overseeing final contract processing, and acting as a key liaison between our Creative Sync team and external partners. This role requires a blend of deep contract administration knowledge and rigorous attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience in Synchronization Licensing Administration within a music publisher, record label, or music-centric media company.
  • Comprehensive and demonstrated knowledge of contract execution and administrative procedures as they pertain to synchronization rights.
  • Proven experience managing, documenting, and administering license terms and conditions.
  • Advanced proficiency in music rights databases, digital rights management systems, and Google Workspace (especially complex data analysis in Sheets/Excel).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal and financial concepts clearly to both creative and business partners.
  • Highly organized, meticulous attention to detail, and capable of exercising independent judgment in administrative and procedural decision-making.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Entertainment Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Possess an ABA-approved Paralegal or Legal Assistant Certificate
  • Familiarity with the execution of master recording licenses is a significant plus.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and execute the administrative phase of complex, high-priority, and strategic synchronization licenses for Film, Television, Advertising, Video Games, and New Media uses.
  • Review, interpret, and process long-form license agreements and short-form sync requests, coordinating closely with Business Affairs and Legal teams to finalize terms and documentation.
  • Manage the execution of licensing agreements with Licensees
  • Ensure accurate fee application and correct financial terms are reflected across all final licenses and invoices
  • Record and maintain basic financial data relating to invoice payments and assist with ensuring license fees are received and processed correctly
  • Develop, implement, and refine administrative and system best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy in quoting, tracking, and final deal entry.
  • Assist in generating and analyzing departmental licensing reports and metrics to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for process optimization.
  • Participate in discussion sessions on new administrative systems, legal document standards, and industry licensing protocols for the Sync team.
