About The Position

The Director of CSN Libraries is the administrative leader of the College of Southern Nevada Libraries. The Director has administrative responsibility for the management, planning, and development of all library policies, services, budgets, and supervision of library personnel. The Director is the primary advocate for the Libraries and has the responsibility of developing strong, collaborative relationships with associate vice presidents, academic deans, department chairs, faculty, and academic support services including eLearning, tutoring, advising, etc. to support teaching and information services, student learning, and to promote the College mission. And participates in public relations and development efforts on behalf of CSN Libraries. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Academic Success, the Director represents CSN and CSN Libraries to internal and external stakeholders, including NSHE, as needed. The Director serves as a member of the academic leadership team.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited Institution in Library Sciences (MLS).
  • 4 years comparable professional experience (academic libraries), comparable supervisory experience.
  • 2 years of supervisory/management experience.

  • Proficiency in the use of a personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Microsoft Teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Make decisions and take actions independently in a variety of diverse situations.
  • Show a high degree of creativity and initiative.
