This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative fast-growing, dynamic REIT within the Leasing Department as a Director, Leasing. As the Director, Leasing , you'll be at the helm of revenue generation, spearheading value creation initiatives, and fortifying client relationships across a diverse portfolio of assets in key regional submarkets. We're looking for a professional with 7-10+ years of demonstrated expertise in Leasing, Strategy, and Investment / Asset Management. Location: Hybrid – Los, Angeles, CA or Costa Mesa, CA Work Arrangement: You will follow a hybrid work model, offering a balanced blend of remote and in-office work.

  • Industry Fluency: Thorough knowledge of commercial and industrial lease structures, documentation, and market practices, with a strong grasp of Southern California industrial real estate fundamentals.

Responsibilities

  • Expert Deal Making: Demonstrate strong proficiency in commercial lease negotiations, with a focus on executing industrial lease transactions across Southern California in alignment with portfolio objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of leasing professionals, establishing clear performance expectations, supporting professional growth, and promoting effective collaboration with internal teams to drive results.
  • Broker Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with the brokerage community to accelerate the leasing of vacant space, while evaluating prospective tenants to support long-term portfolio performance.
  • Strategic Renewals: Lead the execution of lease renewals, working closely with tenants and brokers to strengthen relationships and retain high-quality tenancy.
  • Strategic Marketing: Partner with external brokers, senior leadership, and internal marketing teams to develop and implement leasing and marketing strategies that enhance visibility, drive demand, and unlock value creation opportunities.
  • Document Management: Prepare, review, and negotiate lease-related documentation—including letters of intent, leases, work letters, and broker agreements—ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with Rexford’s objectives.
  • Market Research: Actively monitor market conditions, including rental rates, competitive inventory, tenant demand, and recent transactions, providing actionable insights to inform leasing decisions.
