About The Position

Pfizer is seeking an Insights Lead to join the Integrated Insights & Strategy (IIS) team supporting the Obesity Franchise within Global Commercial Analytics (GCA). IIS partners with senior commercial leaders to translate complex business questions into decision-ready insights that unlock brand value and enable executional excellence. This role elevates primary research through decision-led study design, modern research technologies and AI-enabled workflows, and approaches tailored to real-world commercial strategy and marketing execution. The Insights Lead will serve as a strategic partner to US and Global brand leadership by identifying priority questions, building learning agendas, leading mixed-method research, and integrating insights into a broader analytics ecosystem of behavioral data, performance measurement, and internal knowledge assets.

Requirements

  • BA/BS required (Marketing, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or related field)
  • 8+ years of experience in market research, consulting, insights, or commercial analytics (7+ with advanced degree)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead an annual research plan and budget >$1M across US and global markets
  • Proven ability to frame ambiguous business problems into testable hypotheses and learning plans that drive decisions
  • Expertise across qualitative and quantitative methods, including study design, stimulus development, moderation/interviewing oversight, and interpretation
  • Experience managing vendors end-to-end (selection, contracting, performance oversight) with focus on quality, speed, and value
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence without authority; proven track record as a trusted thought partner to brand leaders
  • Strong communication skills distilling complexity into crisp narratives and recommendations
  • Collaborative team orientation with outstanding listening and cross-functional stakeholder management skills

Nice To Haves

  • MS, MBA, MPH, or PhD preferred
  • Experience in obesity, metabolic, cardiovascular, endocrinology, or chronic care categories; familiarity with access dynamics and persistence patterns
  • Experience integrating primary research with claims, consumer datasets, digital engagement, and performance measurement
  • Exposure to AI-enabled insights workflows and/or modern research technologies (e.g., text analytics, insight repositories, rapid qualitative synthesis tools), with demonstrated commitment to responsible, compliant use
  • Demonstrated ability to build institutional knowledge systems and embed learning into ongoing analytics and strategy work
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Customer & Commercial Decision Insights (Strategy, Drivers, and Execution) Serve as a strategic thought partner to US and Global commercial teams to inform investment decisions, brand strategy, and tactical planning
  • Translate business priorities into decision-led learning agendas (e.g., key tradeoffs, hypotheses, and what action the insight will enable)
  • Design and execute primary market research that elevates the voice of consumers and HCPs, generating insights that are directly applicable to commercial decisions
  • Develop a deep understanding of the obesity market landscape and evolving customer needs—capturing the psychological, emotional, social, and environmental drivers behind consumer and HCP attitudes and behaviors (e.g., initiation, persistence, adherence, discontinuation)
  • Partner with brand and creative teams to inform messaging, positioning, and marketing material development, using practical, rigorous feedback loops (e.g., concept/story flow, message testing, barrier & motivator diagnostics, customer experience evaluation)
  • Integrate insights from primary research and marketing execution learnings to recommend performance improvements, enhance customer experience, and support resource allocation decisions
  • Lead multiple simultaneous research initiatives with strong prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and clear communication of implications and recommended actions
  • Modern Research Design & AI-Enabled Execution Develop fit-for-purpose research approaches tailored to the commercial objective (qual/quant/mixed), balancing depth, speed, and practicality
  • Use modern tools and AI-enabled workflows, as appropriate and compliant, to increase efficiency and consistency
  • Promote a learning mindset that supports rapid iteration when needed, and deeper exploration when warranted
  • Integrating Primary Insights into the Analytics Ecosystem Build and maintain an in-house knowledge base so insights accumulate, can be retrieved quickly, and reduce duplication of effort
  • Integrate primary insights with broader analytics sources (e.g., claims, consumer data, CRM, media, performance measurement, qualitative archives)
  • Partner with data science, analytics engineering, advanced analytics, and media teams to ensure insights connect to performance
  • Vendor and Technology Partnership & Innovation Lead end-to-end vendor selection and management: scope design, contracting, negotiation, quality oversight, and value optimization
  • Maintain a forward-looking vendor ecosystem by identifying new methods, platforms, and tools that can enhance speed, depth, and cost-effectiveness
  • Set a high bar for insight quality: ensure clarity of implications, decision readiness, and strong linkage to strategic questions
