About The Position

The Director, Information Technology (IT) Business Operations is responsible for governing and coordinating enterprise IT operational processes that ensure controlled, predictable, and high-quality delivery of technology releases into production. This position serves as the centralized authority for release management, change governance, financial tracking, and cross-functional operational coordination across all technology platforms and business verticals. This position is responsible for directing all aspects of running an efficient team, including hiring, supervising, coaching, training, disciplining, and motivating direct reports. Develops strategic plans, drives change, and influences critical business outcomes. Oversees operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Related Field. In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.
  • At least 8 years of experience in technology and/or enterprise operations.
  • At least 5 years in release management, or business operations.
  • At least 6 years of experience in leading, supervising and/or managing staff.
  • Experience with IT governance, change and/ or release management frameworks.
  • Exceptional knowledge and ability in ITIL, change management, release management frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of IT governance, fiscal management, and portfolio management.
  • Demonstrated ability to think long-term and develop strategies that align with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound and timely decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing situations and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment and to lead others through change.
  • Excellent people skills for building relationships, fostering teamwork, and creating a positive work environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and people skills.
  • Excellent ability and knowledge in analyzing data, identifying problems, and making informed decisions, often in complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Must have a deep understanding of financial principles.
  • Ability and exceptional knowledge in developing and managing budgets, forecasting future financial outcomes, and making informed decisions about resource allocation.
  • ITIL and change management training.

Responsibilities

  • Develops goals, objectives and actions plans for assigned staff which includes full management responsibility for the hiring, performance reviews, salary reviews and disciplinary matters for direct reporting employees. Foster and promote a culture of transparency, continuous improvement, accountability, and shared ownership of enterprise goals. Manages budgets and resources effectively.
  • Conducts strategic planning to utilize resources to meet current and future departmental and Enterprise-wide goals. Oversees the IT business operations financial tracking, actuals, and variance analysis. Manages budgets and resources effectively.
  • Leads the IT portfolio management function, ensuring visibility into project status, risks, and dependencies. Establishes program governance and ensure consistent delivery practices across teams. Drives prioritization frameworks to balance innovation, maintenance, and regulatory needs.
  • Leads IT operational strategy to align technology capabilities with enterprise priorities. Leads and oversee enterprise Release Management for all technology solutions deploying to production.
  • Facilitates and responsible for the Change Advisory Board (CAB), ensuring risk assessment, dependency management, and stakeholder alignment for all changes.
  • Identifies and actualizes enhancements to support company vision. Define and enforce production readiness criteria for all releases, including documentation, support models, and monitoring requirements.
  • Establishes governance frameworks for budgeting, portfolio management, vendor oversight, and performance reporting. Serves as the escalation point for vendor-related issues impacting releases or production stability.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional management teams.
  • Implements standardized processes across project intake, prioritization, and delivery. Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives. Ensures audit readiness and compliance with internal and external requirements.
