About The Position

The Director - Imaging Services is responsible for management and oversight of day-to-day operational responsibilities of imaging departments across the Baptist Health Care system. These tasks include oversight of Inpatient, Outpatient, Baptist Medical Parks and Andrews Institute Imaging for system alignment and financial viability of all imaging services. These responsibilities include oversight of access, clinical coverage, efficiencies, costs and supply chain initiatives and growth initiatives within each Baptist Health Care facilit y related to imaging services. Th e role align s the imaging initiatives throughout the system to better improve quality and cost effectiveness and ensures service development, personnel management and resource allocation and control in order to support and enhance patient care. The director is r esponsible for the services provided within the facilities by the diagnostic, ultrasound, CT scan, nuclear medicine , PET CT, MRI, and Women’s Imaging departments . T he position oversees director - level administrative and clinical operations of all imaging departments, following best practices and regulatory guidelines and promoting exceptional patient care. The position oversees the selection, training and development of supervisory staff for imaging departments of Baptist Health Care and provides lead with fiscal accountability, positive unit relations with other departments , radiologists and medical staff, and assures services are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulation requirements.

Requirements

  • 7-9 Years Imaging experience required
  • 5 Years Imaging Management/Leadership experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree - Radiology/Business/Administration required
  • Certified Radiology Technologist Licensed- State of Florida required
  • Registered Technologist (ARRT) required

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the strategic development and implementation of imaging programs tied to growth opportunities within Baptist Health Care; provides specific attention to the daily operations and productivity of all facilities with direct oversight of each clinic manager, while managing alignment to the BHC system.
  • Maintains responsibility f or the services provided within the facilities by all diagnostic imaging departments
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates an ongoing services program that ensures the provision of safe clinical practice that emphasizes reliability in performance and is consistent with the hospital mission.
  • Oversees director level administrative and clinical operations of all imaging departments, following best practices and regulatory guidelines and promoting exceptional patient care.
  • Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow through and communication.
  • Monitors compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policy for patient services, personnel management, and environmental safety.
  • Oversees a QA program, which consistently monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
  • Seeks new program strategies and program enhancements to expand patient services; explores required resources and reviews the impact; and initiates program proposals and submits to the leadership for consideration.
  • Interprets/represents the practice and role of the hospital to allied healthcare professionals , physicians , and other team members throughout the organization effectively.
  • Maintains a charging and billing system to ensure that correct charges are applied and distributed.
  • Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the organization’s overall mission.
  • Maintains responsibility for department’s operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Manages team members, which includes orientation, development and evaluation of team members, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services.
  • Participates in the recruiting, interviewing, and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws.
  • Evaluates team member’s performance relative to job goals and requirements.
  • Provides coaching to staff, recommends education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards.
  • Maintains responsibility for the fiscal management of department and assures proper utilization of organization’s financial resources.
  • Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff .
  • Assist s in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization.
  • May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
