About The Position

Supervises and coordinates the imaging operations and technologists and their daily activities, of one modality. Ensures assignments are completed and maintains quality patient care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Ultrasound Technology program, required.
• Current Radiology Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist License in New York State required, and current ARRT registration required OR CNMT registration requiredrequired, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• OR Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification required (no licensure requirement for ultrasound), plus specialized certifications as needed.
• 3-5 years of technical experience and 0-2 years of leadership experience, required.

Responsibilities

• Promotes Imaging Services department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
• Leads the activities of assigned Imaging Services team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
• Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
• Prioritizes, schedules, assigns and monitors work to optimize operational performance; ensures adequate inventory of supplies.
• Organizes and guides staff towards service line/department goals.
• Analyzes, recommends, implements and monitors approved work-flow changes.
• Maintains staff credentials and continuing education credits.
• Follows guidelines set forth by ACR and DOH.
• Ensures staff adherence to Quality and Infection Control guidelines and equipment maintenance according to state and federal guidelines; also maintains related accreditation, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control standards within modality.
• Troubleshoots mechanical equipment issues and ensures compliance to manufacturer specifications.
• Schedule equipment maintenance and repair.
• Participates in developing and delivering training related to modality.
• Participates in evaluating and implementing Performance Improvement related practices.
• Functions as a technologist and responds to emergency calls, as necessary.
• Performs related duties as required.
