About The Position

It is responsible for partnering with HR and executives to embed diversity and inclusion in the strategies, programs and processes that impact our employees and our company’s reputation in this area. This role helps the function and the company capitalize on the significant opportunity to leverage diversity and inclusion to improve performance and to become the company of choice for patients and top talent alike. This role oversees the workforce initiatives for the company’s diversity and inclusion strategy as it evolves to connect the differences in our workforce to the differences in our patients, providers and suppliers. It accomplishes this by building the company’s capability, visibility and recognition in this area through a variety of mechanisms, such as employee networks, development offerings, recognition programs, and external relationships and certifications.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of D+I leadership; strong experience around global D+I efforts
  • Bachelor’s Degree required

Responsibilities

  • Global Workforce D+I capability Lead and enable strong performance, growth and development of GD+I Team Build and Execute global strategy to assure truly global workforce D+I program, launching in LATAM and APAC, and advancing in US and EU Develops and deploys programs for Biogen employees Develops programming designed to leverage differences and advance employees under-represented in leadership Provides content expertise to Global Learning for employee development programming Manages roll-out (with GD+I team) and assess impact of all of programming created by GD+I Sustains gains related to existing programming, and assess for continuous improvement
  • HR’s D+I capability Continuously increase capability by embedding a D+I lens into HR methods, programs and processes Partners effectively as a member of OELT to drive D+I lens through OE work In partnership with D+I Team, creates, supports and continuously improves tools, e.g. D+I Toolkit Consult, in partnership with team, with HRBPs to embed D+I principles in functional strategies, plans and initiatives Partner with CoEs to embed D+I principles, programs and measures and accountability in HR practices, with an emphasis on development and process improvement (focus on Organization Effectiveness, Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits)
  • Reporting Partners with people relations to consult on effective methods to assure progress against Affirmative Action Plan Partners with Head of People Analytics to shape reporting of data related to workforce population, including corporate D+I metrics and future manager dashboard Oversee effective completion of CEO Quarterly Report, annual Corporate Citizenship report, others as needed
  • Analysis Investigates best-in-class practices impacting the workforce, selects and implements practices, programs, and partnerships Develops and deploys analytical solutions to inform business strategy Partner with Compensation team, and Legal team to assure effective pay equity analysis, communication and change management Oversees workforce certification programs Develop tools to provide data regarding inclusion to workforce, e.g. Team Inclusion Assessment and/or embeds such principles in existing tools
  • Leader and Employee Engagement Oversees efforts to strengthen the company’s culture through employee engagement with D+I principles and practices In partnership with Workforce and ERN Manager, oversees management of existing Employee Resource Networks ( approx. 2,000 members;) creates new networks as needed, e.g. Early Career Continuously develops “ambassadors” in the business to support D+I strategy and initiatives and embed these in functional plans and goals Maintain gains in current expansion of D+I in key EU countries Expand D+I workforce practices into APAC and LATAM
