About The Position

Associated Materials Innovation, a $1 billion company, a business of Associated Materials Inc., is seeking a Director of FP&A to lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis in a highly dynamic and complex business environment. This role will be instrumental in helping the business shape and translate its growth strategy by delivering accurate, actionable insights across manufacturing, commercial, and operational functions. The ideal candidate brings strong financial acumen, hands-on analytical skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, complex environment with multiple systems and evolving processes. This position will play a key role in supporting the leadership team and will have regular exposure to the company's private equity sponsor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • 8--12 years of finance experience with deep FP&A expertise across commercial, operational, and manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in supporting commercial or customer-facing business units in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for business leaders and senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-complexity settings with fragmented systems and evolving processes.
  • Strong leadership presence with a collaborative and hands-on approach.
  • Strong modeling, forecasting, and business case evaluation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience working with senior executives.
  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional projects and driving organizational change.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, and be effective and decisive under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt and work well in a fast-paced, results-oriented and rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior financial advisor and business partner to the AMI leadership team and the CFO; drive visibility and accountability across the business.
  • Drives the key financial planning processes for the business. Leads the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Partner with commercial teams to lead business profitability analysis and provide deep insights into commercial performance (volume, mix, sales growth, customer).
  • Deliver clear, data-driven insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Drive consistency, accuracy, and discipline in financial reporting and performance tracking.
  • Serve as a connector across operations, commercial teams, and the broader finance organization.
  • Support system, data, and process improvements to enhance forecasting, analysis, and reporting capabilities.
  • Builds commercial business partnership capabilities.
  • Lead the monthly financial review process, including analysis of results, variances, and business drivers for the AMI business.
  • Partner with commercial organizations to drive profitable growth. Provide in-depth insights to enhance understanding of account and territory performance, product margins, and growth opportunities, leveraging market insights and industry trends.
  • Manage and coordinate the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning efforts for the AMI business and lead the planning process for customer revenue and margins, ensuring alignment with corporate goals
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and executive level reporting to track performance across revenue, cost, and operational metrics supporting business reviews and board presentations. Highlight key insights and areas of opportunity to drive financial and operational performance.
  • Support tracking and reporting for Value Creation Plans and Value Protection Initiatives.
  • Develop and drive sales and margin analysis for AMI's customer and product portfolio. Identify trends, risks and opportunities; provide insights to maximize profitability. Analyze working capital, inventory, , pricing, and margin trends to support operational decisions.
  • Lead financial modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate business cases, capital projects, and strategic investments.
  • Mentor and manage a high-performing FP&A team; establish clear goals and rigor around analysis and presentation standards
