About The Position

Position Summary: The Director of Field Services is responsible for leading, managing, and optimizing all field operations to ensure high-quality service delivery, operational efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals. This role provides strategic direction and hands-on leadership to field teams while partnering with executive leadership, operations, HR, and finance to drive performance, compliance, and growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 8-12+ years of progressive leadership experience in field operations, service management, or a related environment.
  • Proven experience leading multi-site or geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into action.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
  • Proficiency with operational systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for all field service operations across the organization including facilities, fuel systems, and IT field systems.
  • Develop and implement operational goals, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop field managers and supervisors to build a high-performing, accountable team. This includes Facilities Manager, Fuel Systems Manager and IT Field Systems Manager.
  • Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, customer focus, and compliance.
  • Oversee daily field operations to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Establish and maintain standardized processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and service levels; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels, scheduling, and resource allocation including outside vendor management.
  • Develops and maintains a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment
  • Researches, negotiates with, and hires external maintenance contractors when necessary.
  • Develop and manage field services budgets, including labor, equipment, and operating expenses.
  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Drive cost control initiatives while maintaining service quality.
  • Partner with finance on forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare capital request for equipment replacements and large repairs.
  • Develops and prepares monthly maintenance reports for Sr. Director of Facilities & Development.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
  • Lead safety initiatives, training, and incident investigations.
  • Partner with HR on employee relations, performance management, corrective action, and compliance matters.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. i.e. well water, wastewater, stormwater
  • Serve as an escalation point for significant customer or operational issues.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Support business development efforts by providing operational insight and field expertise.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Leverage technology, data, and reporting tools to improve field operations and decision-making.
  • Support change management initiatives and adoption of new systems or processes.
