The Director, Environmental & Integrated Design is a senior expert-level creative leader, operating as the internal creative agency Associate Creative Director level. This individual drives the brand experience across Travel + Leisure Co.’s physical environments and integrated design platforms, including environmental, print, digital, and experiential, ensuring a unified and elevated brand expression across all consumer and internal touchpoints. While the role does not include direct reports, it holds senior-level creative authority and serves as a key cross-functional partner, shaping how the Travel + Leisure Co. portfolio is expressed across digital and physical spaces. The ideal candidate is a conceptually strong, hands-on designer who excels at translating strategy into scalable, beautifully executed design systems. This individual sets the creative vision and design tone for complex, multi-channel initiatives, spanning sales centers, environmental graphics, digital signage, pitch presentations, branded content, and integrated campaigns. The role also acts as a strategic thought partner in UI/UX and digital marketing design, shaping end-to-end experiences from space to screen. This individual creative directs and works as proxy for Sr Director from a creative direction role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design, Graphic Design, Architecture, Visual Communication, or a related discipline. Advanced knowledge in experiential, print, digital, and signage systems preferred. Familiarity with UX/UI design systems is a plus.
  • Proven ability to provide associate creative direction across all design formats for print, digital, environmental, and experiential
  • Exceptional conceptual thinking with a strong understanding of branding, storytelling, and physical space design.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of customer journey design and brand consistency across touchpoints.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and vendors without direct authority.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop); fluency in Figma, XD, and Keynote/PPT.
  • Understanding of digital signage formats, file specs, and content systems.
  • Comfortable working within digital asset managers and project collaboration tools (AEM, Airtable, Asana, etc.).
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in an agency or in-house brand/creative environment required.
  • 10+ years Agency experience a must.
  • Minimum 12 years of professional experience in brand design, environmental graphics, or creative direction.
  • Portfolio must demonstrate creative leadership across integrated design, with work spanning physical spaces, digital platforms, and marketing communications.
  • Experience collaborating with architecture, sales, marketing, or real estate teams is strongly preferred.
  • Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced knowledge in experiential, print, digital, and signage systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI design systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with tools for environmental layouts and mockups a strong plus.
  • Experience collaborating with architecture, sales, marketing, or real estate teams is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Creative Development & Execution Lead hands-on creative concepting and design execution across environmental, print, and digital media including mood boards, comps, prototyping, final art, and storytelling frameworks.
  • Provide associate-level creative direction across pitch decks, campaign assets, environmental toolkits, and executive presentations.
  • Ensure design quality, brand alignment, and readiness from concept to delivery.
  • Environmental Graphics & Experiential Branding Own the creative vision for branded sales environments—including signage, murals, dimensional features, digital displays, and spatial storytelling.
  • Collaborate with Construction, Sales & Marketing, and Brand teams to translate associate and guest journeys into immersive physical experiences that enhance brand perception and drive engagement.
  • Thought Leadership & Art Direction Across Brand, Digital & UI/UX Serve as a strategic partner and associate creative director to all brand projects (print), UI/UX, Sales Tech, and Digital Marketing teams, contributing expert-level design direction, conceptual input, and visual critique.
  • Guide the creative tone of digital platforms and interactive tools, ensuring consistency with physical brand environments and broader creative strategy.
  • Elevated Brand Expression Across Channels Provide expert-level creative direction and execution across all branded touchpoint, from digital assets and interactive decks to print collateral and environmental signage.
  • Maintain high standards of craft, storytelling, and visual cohesion across every medium.
  • Cross-Functional Influence & Design Governance Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Communications, and Product to align creative vision with business objectives.
  • Champion consistency, influence vendor output, and uphold brand standards, without formal supervisory responsibility.
