About The Position

As the Director of E-Commerce Sales- Flexible Packaging, you will serve as the primary liaison for key accounts; building strong partnerships, delivering tailored packaging solutions, and aligning internal resources to position Mondi as the preferred partner for eCommerce packaging. This is a true player-coach role: you’ll lead a high-performing sales team while maintaining direct responsibility for strategic customers, reinforcing Mondi’s reputation as a trusted leader in sustainable packaging. Based in our Romeoville, IL headquarters, this position offers virtual flexibility with travel.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles, with at least 5+ years of B2B packaging sales experience, 3+ years of proven experience leading a team
  • 3+ years of experience selling solutions to e-commerce customers preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities, with a customer-centric approach and a focus on delivering exceptional service
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate value
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and change - driving transformation and innovation
  • Bachelor’s Degree required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for mailer bag packaging sales to key e-commerce customers, aligned with company objectives
  • Lead Key Account Managers and Sales Executives to deliver the annual e-commerce/mailer bag business plan
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, procurement managers, and packaging leaders
  • Understand each account’s unique needs and challenges and proactively propose innovative packaging solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, design, production, and logistics) to deliver integrated solutions that meet customer expectations
  • Drive sales growth by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities within key accounts, leveraging our full product portfolio and service offerings
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to ensure mutual benefit and long-term partnerships
  • Monitor account performance, track sales metrics, and analyze market trends to identify risks and revenue opportunities
  • Provide timely, accurate forecasts and reports on key account activities to senior management
  • Address customer inquiries and issues promptly and professionally, serving as a trusted advisor and problem-solver
