The Director, Corporate Controller, is a key member of the Finance team, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role is responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls and compliance. The Director will oversee the accounting team and support the CFO in driving process improvements and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Experience with accounting systems (JD Edwards or similar ERP preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Experience supporting audits and preparing financial statements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting staff.
  • Experience with process improvement and system implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets
  • Ensure regular preparation and reviews of account reconciliations; prepare financial analyses as needed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly close
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, including oversight and coordination of the annual audits
  • Lead timely reviews of the monthly financials including detailed P&L and balance sheet reviews
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of the quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS
  • Design and monitor internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and GAAP.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive oversight and analysis
  • Support the CFO with cash / treasury management and banking relationships
  • Ensure timely and accurate income and other tax filings as well as any local or federal governmental reporting,
  • Support the insurance renewal process as needed
  • Support other projects and priorities as assigned by the CFO
  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
