The Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations, is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive institutional giving program focused on corporate sponsorships and foundation grants. This position builds and stewards relationships with current and prospective funders, develops compelling proposals and partnership opportunities, and ensures that all commitments are fulfilled and recognized. The Director will work closely with the Chief Revenue Officer and program teams to align funding opportunities with organizational priorities and impact goals. This is a highly entrepreneurial role that requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate is motivated by growth, energized by building new partnerships, and skilled at translating mission impact into compelling value propositions for corporate and foundation investors. They will bring a business development mindset to fundraising—identifying untapped opportunities, designing creative sponsorships, and generating new revenue streams that fuel the organization’s mission. This role will be instrumental in rebuilding and scaling Social Current’s institutional giving function. The Director will join as a department of one, with the autonomy and support to build systems, strategy, and pipeline from the ground up. For major national foundation partnerships (e.g., Annie E. Casey Foundation), the Chief Revenue Officer and CEO will serve as collaborative partners on cultivation and solicitation. This role carries direct revenue responsibility that scales over a three-year trajectory as the institutional giving function is rebuilt: Year 1 (2026): Ramp-up year. Assess the current portfolio, re-establish lapsed relationships, and rebuild the grants pipeline and corporate sponsorship program. The organizational target is $2.5M in institutional giving revenue; the expectation is that the new Director will focus on laying the groundwork and closing existing opportunities rather than hitting the full target, given the department is being rebuilt from zero. Year 2 (2027): Growth year. Expand the foundation pipeline with new national and regional prospects, grow the corporate sponsorship portfolio, and move toward a target of $3M in annual institutional giving revenue. Year 3 (2028): Maturity year. Sustain and exceed $3M annually. Deepen multi-year foundation partnerships, diversify the corporate sponsor base.
