Summary The Director, Community Giving will manage all aspects of community-driven fundraising events across the LVHN footprint. Oversees all aspects of community-based fundraising initiatives, including but not limited to youth and school-based programs, retail fundraising partnerships, in-kind donations, peer-to-peer campaigns, and third-party events. This position will do research to target new prospective donors and generate new avenues for revenue. It is expected that most of this person's time will be spent in the community, aligning the LVHN Office of Philanthropy with various organizations, businesses, and schools. Though this position is not specifically intended to support one area of LVHN, much of the work around this role does focus on Lehigh Valley Reilly Children's Hospital and the Topper Cancer Institute. This position will maintain close working relationships with LVHN Colleagues, specifically the Director of Child Life and Child Life team. This role is accountable for building a broad and sustainable culture of community philanthropy, driving engagement and financial support for LVHN's mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 years in fundraising/development
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, establish priorities and maintain flexibility
  • Must be well-polished individual to meet with donors and prospective donors
  • Self-starter that can build a program with guidance
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet research
  • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and superior organizational skills
  • Professional writing style, consistency and ability to produce error-free communications

  • 5 years in fundraising/development in a healthcare environment
  • Experience in healthcare environment
  • Project management experience

Responsibilities

  • Create and nurture relationships with local, regional, and national businesses to develop a network of engaged participation in the success of community fundraisers
  • Engage colleges/universities in various ways to fundraise for LVHN via dance marathons or other group activities
  • Collaborate with K-12 schools to promote the Youth Giving Program and align schools with fundraising priorities for LVHN
  • Manage gift-in-kind donors, donations, and donation process
  • Track outcomes of all community fundraisers
  • Work with local community organizations to collaborate and encourage philanthropic support whenever possible (this includes organizations such as PCFLV, Lions Clubs, Rotary, Kiwanis, etc)
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on third party fundraising and how LVHN can assist donors in having a successful event
