About The Position

We are seeking a strategic and execution-minded Director, Chief of Staff (CoS), to join the Enterprise Consumer Product (ECP) leadership team. ECP’s mission is to build and manage the innovative platforms that deliver exceptional digital customer experiences and drive enterprise growth. Supporting an Executive Vice President and their senior leadership team, you will serve as a critical force-multiplier, driving organizational excellence through flawlessly executed processes and strategic orchestration that improve business efficiency and cross-functional impact. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, emotionally intelligent leader who thrives on resolving ambiguous and complex organizational challenges. You are an expert at connecting disciplined process to strategic outcomes, facilitating vocal leadership teams toward purposeful decisions, and anticipating the needs of a large-scale integrated organization. This role requires a unique blend of strategic foresight, operational rigor, and the relational proximity needed to influence outcomes in a matrixed environment. In this role, you will partner with world-class professionals to develop and implement strategies that unlock leverage and value across ECP. This is a highly visible platform to shape how an integrated Product, Tech, and Design organization operates at scale within Capital One.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 7 years of experience in Project Management, Process Management, or Program Management

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy development
  • 5+ years of experience in budgeting and labor strategy
  • 6+ years of experience driving organizational change and operational excellence

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership & Advisement: Serve as a strategic advisor and operating partner to the senior leadership team, translating vision into actionable roadmaps and providing a high-context sounding board for executive decision-making.
  • Operational Governance & Rhythmic Clarity: Create and evolve the organization’s operating rhythms to provide clarity, focus, and cohesion. This includes leading the orchestration of business priorities, routines, and strategic planning processes.
  • Systemic Scalability: Design and implement scalable tools and processes that enhance organizational effectiveness, bringing transparency and rigor to business operations through the synthesis of disparate data and reporting.
  • Financial Stewardship & Integrated Planning: Partner closely with Corporate Finance to ensure operational roadmaps and financial forecasts are deeply synchronized. Act as the primary interface to ensure that organizational planning is grounded in financial reality and that all resource allocations are optimized against fiscal targets.
  • Organizational Synthesis & Connectivity: Act as the central "connective tissue" across the organization, ensuring information and insights flow seamlessly across functional boundaries (Product, Tech, Design, Finance) to maintain alignment on shared objectives.
  • Autonomous Initiative Stewardship: Lead high-stakes special projects that cut across multiple domains, navigating matrixed environments independently to surface learnings and iterate on operational solutions.
