About The Position

Director, Chief of Staff - Bank Tech The ideal candidate will have an exceptional track record of building strong business partnerships, demonstrated success in critical thinking and problem solving, experience with complex analysis, and ability to balance critical priorities across a wide range of responsibilities. The Chief of Staff should have experience in developing executive-ready presentations and telling a compelling story through data. Team Description The Bank Tech team is building the Real Time, Intelligent Bank of the Future. Bank Tech is an integrated Tech organization, building on common capabilities to help Capital One become the first bank to build an internal, integrated modernized core banking platform. By developing cutting-edge technology solutions, we enable our banks and businesses to deliver breakthrough, real-time intelligent customer experiences. Role Expectations This Director, Chief of Staff is a connector across the Bank Tech organization supporting an individual tower, operating as a strategic partner for the Managing Vice President/ Vice President and the Senior Leadership team. A successful candidate is great at balancing the big picture, strategic-thinking while tackling the tactical execution and recognizing overlaps in plans, processes, people, and many other facets of a functioning organization. The role will be accountable for building cohesion and continuity across the organization, towers and leaders. They must exhibit curiosity and leverage Large Language Model tools to bring efficiency to the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 7 years of experience in Project Management, Process Management, or Program Management

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy development
  • 5+ years of experience in budgeting and labor strategy
  • 6+ years of experience driving organizational change and operational excellence
  • 3+ years of experience partnering with engineering and product teams

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with key stakeholders, lead the development and implementation of short and long term strategic programs for the organization
  • Deeply understand prioritization and delivery roadmap, helping to identify cross-tower dependencies to proactively manage impediments
  • Work to influence matrixed stakeholder teams to move the organization forward in a well-integrated manner
  • Partner with communications resources to enhance our organizational brand, highlighting the impact of our strategic initiatives
  • As new projects arise, work with leadership to determine feasibility, project and implementation plan
  • Champion unpopular ideas, even with more senior leaders
  • Able to get up to speed quickly on key topics and navigate the organization
  • Drive organizational change and operational excellence
  • Serve as a trusted advisor with stakeholders and leaders across the enterprise
  • Regularly use strong business judgment, influencing skills, leadership and integrity
  • Inspire an organization of open-exchange and collaboration
  • Leverage strong facilitation, negotiation and mediation skills
  • Employ both meticulous organizational skills and follow-through
  • Work with little direction on complicated, sensitive assignments
