About The Position

Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As part of a passionate and accomplished team, you will manage the engineering team responsible for all New Glenn flight vehicle and developmental test cable harness designs. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of avionics cable harness design, procurement, and integration. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 15+ years industry experience in the design, assembly and integration of cable harnesses for aerospace applications
  • Conversant and proficient with industry standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Creo Parametric cabling design software, or equivalent
  • Proficient use of Windchill, or equivalent, for formal design review and release
  • 10+ years of direct personnel management experience
  • Previous experience managing projects through their full lie cycle
  • Previous experience managing harness suppliers

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree (M.S.) or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Current IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4 certification
  • Previous experience automating processes
  • Lean Six Sigma experience
  • Experience designing cable harnesses for aircraft, launch vehicles or spacecraft
  • Experience with Jira, or other issue tracking software

Responsibilities

  • Lead a highly talented team of avionics cable harness designers and manage day-to-day tasking based on program priorities
  • Work with team leads and project managers to prioritize harness design and analysis tasks
  • Write, modify, implement, and own standards, processes, and tools for the New Glenn avionics routed systems team
  • Responsible for review and formal release and sign off of all engineering artifacts produced by the routed systems team
  • Responsible for team member performance management, training, career development, and recruiting
  • Lead by example, mentor, and coach team members
