About The Position

As a charitable affiliate of AARP, we serve AARP members and nonmembers alike. Through vigorous legal advocacy and evidence-based solutions, and by strengthening supportive community connections, we foster resilience, advance equity and restore hope. The Director, Audience Marketing directs a team of marketers in the development and implementation of multichannel marketing campaign and program strategies to attract and engage key audiences of AARP Foundation, including volunteers and grantees; additionally, provides support to Development team for donor-focused marketing work. Ensures marketing activities are integrated with other parts of the business and align with overall organization objectives. Directs the development of multi-channel strategies and implements tactical plans to achieve goals. Tracks and assesses campaign results and adjusts marketing strategies and plans to meet changing markets and competitive conditions. Collaborates with senior management in the development of multi-channel marketing plans and strategies for the business.

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience developing strategic results driven marketing campaigns
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience leading teams in a performance marketing role, focused on customer insights and data-driven outcomes
  • Detail-oriented and analytics driven, able to quickly identify areas of opportunity in large data sets
  • Experience creating and executing multichannel marketing campaigns in partnership with external agencies
  • Experience working within matrixed organizations, building relationships and driving results across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working with external partners including large corporations to develop and execute marketing strategies to drive mutual successes

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and provides strategic marketing expertise for customer business campaigns to achieve varied KPIs, which may include managing daily proposals and presentation development for customers
  • Provide strategic thought leadership and lead brainstorming across projects and programs to create innovative marketing approaches and actionable big ideas that meet customer or business objectives and KPIs.
  • Leads the development of annual strategic marketing plans to achieve goals and objectives for the business.
  • Oversees quality control of the messaging and communication strategy in marketing communications.
  • Tracks metrics and success criteria for marketing programs and activities to inform marketing direction.
  • Manages a marketing team and demonstrates professional cultural attributes and behaviors in all internal and external interactions. Derives actionable insights and makes strategic recommendations to optimize future strategies, plans, and tactics.
  • Partners with key stakeholders to synthesize strategic inputs and apply audience insights
