About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Aircraft Fueling to lead and oversee all aspects of the fueling operations for our airline partners. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of fueling procedures, safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and operational management. This leadership role requires a focus on improving efficiency, ensuring fuel quality, reducing operational costs, and maintaining high safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, business administration, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in aircraft fueling or aviation operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale fueling operations, including overseeing teams, budgets, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of aviation fueling equipment, fuel quality standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FAA, OSHA, EPA).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make data-driven decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety protocols, risk management, and emergency response procedures related to aircraft fueling.
  • Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and achieve financial targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fuel management software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the entire fueling department and other operational departments as assigned, including a team of fueling supervisors, technicians, and support staff.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize fueling processes and reduce delays.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation industry regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with airport authorities, fuel suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of the fueling team.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of fueling operations at multiple airports, ensuring the timely and safe fueling of aircraft.
  • Monitor and evaluate fuel quality, efficiency, and cost control measures, ensuring that all fuel supplied meets industry standards.
  • Analyze operational data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure fueling equipment is maintained and serviced regularly.
  • Ensure that all fueling activities adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the company's safety and environmental policies.
  • Lead efforts to maintain a zero-incident safety record, including conducting safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Oversee the training programs focused on fueling safety, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget for fueling operations, ensuring that fuel costs are optimized, and operational expenses are controlled.
  • Analyze fuel consumption and expenditure to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate favorable contracts with fuel suppliers.
  • Lead long-term planning efforts to enhance fueling capabilities, including evaluating new technologies and systems to improve fueling operations.
  • Assess and implement new industry best practices to stay ahead of operational and safety standards.
