Director, AI Governance & Enablement

Marvell TechnologySanta Clara, CA
$190,280 - $285,000

About The Position

Marvell’s semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities. At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead. Marvell is on an ambitious journey to embed AI across the enterprise — accelerating productivity, driving innovation, and unlocking new business value. As that capability scales, the governance and enablement infrastructure needs to scale with it. The Director of AI Governance & Enablement is a critical leadership role that ensures Marvell’s AI expansion is both bold and responsible. This leader will build and own the frameworks, operational processes, and reporting that ensure every AI capability at Marvell — whether an internally built agentic solution or an externally procured SaaS AI tool — is properly evaluated, approved, tracked, and used within policy. This is not a passive oversight role. It requires someone who can establish authority across a fast-moving organization, engage teams before ungoverned AI adoption becomes a risk, and drive strategic enterprise-wide AI expansions when the opportunity calls for it. On the operational side, this team builds governance operations on top of the enterprise AI platform’s observability and infrastructure services — owning the definitions, risk frameworks, outcomes, and reporting that give Marvell leadership and compliance teams real visibility into the AI portfolio. Alongside that, this leader owns enterprise AI adoption: the training, change management, and enablement programs that ensure Marvell employees can use AI tools confidently, effectively, and responsibly at scale.

  • 12+ years in enterprise technology with meaningful time in governance, risk, or technology strategy.
  • Proven track record building governance or operational frameworks for emerging technologies in complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide technology evaluations and rollouts including procurement coordination.
  • Strong working knowledge of agentic AI platforms and frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similar orchestration tooling.
  • Familiarity with enterprise SaaS AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Glean, Cursor, or Claude.
  • Experience with observability and telemetry platforms (e.g. Datadog, Splunk, OpenTelemetry) to define monitoring requirements, build dashboards, and operationalize alerting.
  • Comfortable establishing governance in fast-moving environments without becoming a blocker.
  • Strong communicator — able to translate governance concepts into clear policies, training, and executive narratives.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with MCP-based architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Own the unified intake and approval process for all AI capabilities — internal agentic solutions and SaaS AI tools — across all channels regardless of which team is driving adoption.
  • Lead strategic enterprise AI tool expansions end-to-end, including evaluation, business case, and procurement coordination with IT, Finance, and Legal.
  • Define the agentic governance framework: risk categorization, agent identity and scope definitions, acceptable use policies, and lifecycle management.
  • Build governance operations using the enterprise AI platform’s observability services, owning the risk thresholds, anomaly definitions, and response processes.
  • Deliver the governance reporting cadence — operational dashboards, risk summaries, compliance attestations, and executive updates.
  • Partner with Security, Legal, and Compliance to keep the framework aligned with enterprise risk requirements and regulations.
  • Design and run the enterprise AI enablement program: training, change management, adoption tracking, and a Center of Excellence across business units.
  • Hire and grow the Governance & Enablement team as the program scales.
  • Intake — Unified intake process live and enforced across agentic and SaaS AI channels
  • AI inventory — Live catalog of all approved AI solutions and tools with real-time risk and ownership visibility
  • Risk model — Documented risk tiers with differentiated controls and enforcement in place
  • Governance reporting — Regular reporting cadence delivering operational, risk, and executive visibility
