About The Position

The Director of Accounting is a senior finance leader responsible for overseeing the end-to-end revenue lifecycle, from contract review and revenue recognition through billing, credit management, and collections. This role ensures compliance with ASC 606, drives accurate and timely invoicing and cash collection, and builds scalable processes that support business growth. The Director partners closely with Sales, Legal, FP&A, Operations, and external auditors while leading high-performing accounting and billing teams. Will also own prepaid amortization schedules along with payroll g/l postings and accruals from Company’s Dayforce system.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters in Accounting; CPA Certification preferred
  • MS Office Suite Proficiency
  • Experience in a large ERP environment – SAP preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and internal control frameworks
  • Minimum 8-10 years of business-related experience; Public accounting experience preferred
  • Manufacturing or distribution experience preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience supervising AR, general accounting/financial reporting or audit staff.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of Company’s revenue recognition (ASC 606) methodology including all technical accounting aspects including relevant customer contract review and input on new customer set up.
  • Supervision of entire Billing/Credit and Collections staff, providing guidance in efforts around A/R collections, billing, problem solving and troubleshooting, collaborating with other teams as necessary.
  • Oversee review of credit applications from customer or sales personnel for completeness, investigate credit background using established methods to determine credit worthiness, sets credit limit on account in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Execute credit and collection decisions when issues arise that are beyond the staff’s level of authority.
  • Oversee month-end reserve analysis and revenue reconciliations.
  • Assist in AR securitization compliance.
  • Oversee Prepaid Expenses, amortization and reconciliations.
  • Oversee Payroll postings to the general ledger and reconciliation of related accounts, including vacation and holiday accruals.
  • Co-ownership of the month-end close process with the Senior Director of Accounting.
  • Researching, preparing, and posting journal entries, as well as reviewing site journal entries.
  • Assisting other departments with G/L or other accounting-related questions or requests.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors for revenue, billing, AR, prepaid, and payroll g/l posting matters.
  • Other ad-hoc projects as required.
