About The Position

You will be accountable for defining and leading PMI’s Business-to-Academia (B2A) strategy worldwide, ensuring consistent and scalable engagement with universities, students, and faculty across all of our Regions. This role will unify existing and future academic offerings, including accreditation of degree programs, university partnerships, student membership and engagement, and research collaborations—into a cohesive global framework that strengthens the academic pipeline of the Project Management profession and positions PMI as the partner of choice for higher education institutions. The Director will collaborate closely with Regional leaders and internal teams such as Channel, Marketing, Product, and our Community team to align academic initiatives across markets, balancing global strategy with local adaptation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in education, Business, International Affairs, or related field strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in global higher education partnerships, workforce development, academic strategy, or professional associations.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple stakeholder groups—higher education institutions, state and national higher education agencies, and accreditation organizations.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including managing and developing teams across multiple geographies or functions.
  • Deep knowledge of global higher education ecosystems, accreditation processes, and professional training/certification models.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and scaling university strategies across multiple international markets.
  • Strong cross-cultural fluency and ability to navigate diverse educational, cultural, and regulatory environments.
  • Solid understanding of academia and cross-cultural collaboration practices that will enable to represent the organization at international forums to advance PMI’s reputation and impact.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with global stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with operational execution at a global scale.
  • Experience of working in an agile, dynamic, and customer-centric environment

  • Proficiency in the business language for PMI (English)
  • Possible travel up to 30%
