About The Position

Senior Director of Academic Partnerships Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Academic Partnerships, this executive role partners with executive nursing leadership and patient care services to support all system-level aspects of academic partners and strategic decision-making to provide placement and recruitment of health care workers. The Senior Director will support activities and personnel related to academic partnerships and clinical placement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) (or relevant graduate degree) required
  • Current license in the State of Florida as a registered nurse or multi-state Florida Compact license
  • National specialty certification in nursing administration
  • Minimum eight (8) years of successful leadership and management experience

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing (or relevant degree) preferred
  • Nursing educational experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Works in an engaging manner with academic partners and Orlando Health/Baptist Health leaders to develop, implement and evaluate student programming.
  • Develops innovative student learning experiences while maximizing internal resources to expand academic relationships.
  • Expands and prioritizes academic partnerships based on organizational needs within the Orlando Health market.
  • Maintain flexibility to meet the needs of an expanding Orlando Health market.
  • Works collaboratively and influences Orlando Health Operational leaders, Human Resources, and Talent Acquisition partners to facilitate recruitment of nursing and allied health students.
  • Utilizes innovative and sustainable approaches to meet organizational strategic imperatives related to recruitment and retention.
  • Supports teams’ relationship management with hospital and academic partners.
  • Reviews and provides recommendations on data analysis/interpretation on reported outcomes of programming and academic affiliations.
  • Partners with appropriate leaders and team members at all OH locations, both inpatient and ambulatory settings, to create constructive interaction in standardization and alignment of best practices.
  • Engages to maximize student placement and educational experiences.
  • Maintains oversight of academic affiliation agreements.
  • Maintains visibility in clinical settings to assess outcomes, engage team members, and identify opportunities to enhance processes.
  • Serves as primary liaison for implementation and evaluation of best practices, such as Dedicated Educational Units and externship programs with recruitment focus/outcomes.
  • Provides oversight and mentorship to student services team members.
  • Effective presentation and interpersonal skills, meeting the needs of all levels within the organization.
  • Supports strategies and provides leadership to improve academic relations, student rotations, clinical student recruitment, and retention.
  • Develops strategic partnerships with community entities to enhance outreach efforts.
  • Develops strategies and works to resolve issues with internal partners to identify needs of new hires and to optimize learning strategies that support successful transition into the organization.
  • Provides relationship management and supports intentional clinical student engagement activities that result in exemplary clinical experiences.
  • Collaborates with local nursing and allied health programs as indicated to maximize and optimize clinical rotations and enhance graduate preparedness.
  • Participates on committees to identify, plan, and execute strategic goals. Ability to share and integrate best practices across the organization.
  • Evaluates the feasibility of new academic partnerships and makes recommendations to executive leadership and team.
  • Actively participates in recruiting events, promotional campaigns, job fairs/conferences and other marketing and media events to promote and attract new academic partnerships and students.
