About The Position

The Direct Support Provider (DSP) will assist the DSP Supervisor with providing work skills training and social skills training to clients. The DSP will also assist with completion of daily paperwork and data collection for the clients in accordance with agency and government guidelines. The DSP is responsible to implement and follow the behavioral protocols and support plans after training for client-specific needs. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend and follow daily and weekly schedules of training objectives for clients served.
  • Must assist with the supervision and monitoring of clients in the Title XIX ID/DD Waiver Program.
  • Willingness and ability to assist with the set-up of training activities.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing and able to transport clients to and from prevocational training activities as needed.
  • Must be willing and able to assist clients with accommodation of work performance tasks.
  • Ability and willingness to assist in training clients in the following areas: job skills, social skills, and behavioral issues.
  • Must have the knowledge and ability to assist with intervention to replace inappropriate work behaviors with adaptive work skills and behaviors.
  • Must be able to provide one-on-one training to clients as necessary.
  • Ability to assist in maintaining the staff to client ratio according to behavioral health regulations.
  • Ability and willingness to abide by Medicaid Waiver guidelines a set by APS Healthcare.
  • Must be willing and able to work in an extremely busy environment requiring above-average organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while accurately maintaining satisfactory progress and meeting established deadlines.
  • Must exhibit professional demeanor in appearance, interpersonal relations, work ethic and attitude.
  • Must be willing to work as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must exhibit reading, writing and math levels equivalent of a high school graduate.
  • Must have ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have ability to pass criminal background check.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of six months of social service or life experience with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
