About The Position
Self-Direction DSP - Syracuse Area (Job #LB-SR) ARISE/Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work in the Syracuse area with a gentleman who requires assistance due to accessibility needs. The individual is seeking a dedicated staff to provide him with support and assistance in maintaining independence both at home and in the community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with transportation to activities within the community, specifically schooling at Syracuse University, along with activities at the school and home assistance with daily living skills. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, and enthusiastic. Prior experience is a plus but not required. Reliable transportation and a HS Diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire. Work hours are Monday 8:30am-9:30am & 12pm-3pm, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8:30am -9:30am & 10:45am-2/3pm, Wednesday 8:30am-9:30am & 10:35am – 3:30pm, Sunday 11am-2pm, total hours per week will depend on activities not more than 25 hours per week. Requirements
- Reliable transportation
- HS Diploma/GED
- Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
