FT - Direct Support Professional (DSP) Support Services/ Harford County
About The Position
We are seeking a Full Time Personal Supports (DSP) to provide hands-on care to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities providing assistance with personal hygiene, activities/ outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning. Support a 10 year old in Harford County with building independence and community by working on personal independence skills, developing community, attending appointments, engaging in meaningful play, social skills, communication, etc. Assist with finding new activities of interest and planning a weekly schedule of activities. Staff should be patient, respectful, trustworthy, and able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life. The schedule is subject to flexibility due to the needs of the individuals supported. Some lift and transfer may be required. DSPs assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives by: Assisting with participation and exploration of the community Cultivating and expanding independent living skills Assisting with the development of meaningful and personal relationships Implementing strategies to achieve individuals’ personal goals.
Requirements
- High school degree/GED
- Current driver’s license with less than three points on the driving record
