About The Position

Community Access Services is currently seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Portland, OR to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a community based setting. No experience required – paid training provided! What You’ll Do as a Direct Support Professional: Develop meaningful, person-centered relationships that support independence, dignity, and personal choice. Assist with daily living activities such as meal prep, personal care, and household routines. Support individuals in community participation, recreation, appointments, and working toward personal goals. Encourage skill development, confidence, and social connections. Follow individualized support plans (full training provided). Administer medications safely and keep accurate records. Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Serve as a positive role model and advocate for the needs and preferences of those you support.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to become an approved company driver
  • Ability to pass a national background check
  • Compassionate communicator with patience, problem-solving skills, and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and assist individuals with mobility needs
  • Dependable, respectful, and committed to person-centered support

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a DSP, caregiver, or human services professional is a plus, but not required — training is provided
