The Direct Lending Processor contacts both member(s) and non-members to solicit loan and deposit products over the phone and online. Cross-sells additional products and services to develop new business and increase product penetration. Contacts members when a consumer loan or Mastercard application has been conditioned, approved, or denied and communicates the decision to the member. This individual serves member needs for loans and requires technical and analytical product and service knowledge in all loan/deposit products, with a heavy emphasis on consumer loans. Works every lead opportunity, seeking sources of additional collateral, income and making recommendations on counter-offers to the original loan request whenever possible. Additionally, by understanding the products and services offered, the individual will determine the appropriateness of “next best” product offerings and will be best positioned to provide alternatives. The individual actively participates in and is held accountable for the attainment of individual and departmental/organizational goals. Clear and effective verbal and written communication such as the ability to make clear and concise notes at every point of contact is critical for this position. Collects all necessary paperwork to set up loan closings for members with approved consumer loan or MasterCard applications. Sells payment protection and loan protection insurance to qualified members, Mechanical Repair Coverage (MRC), and Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) if applicable. Refers Auto and Homeowners insurance and CEFCU Investment Services (CIS) products and services when appropriate. Evaluates each member’s credit bureau and financial portfolio to recognize opportunities to upsell CEFCU products and services in order to improve each member’s financial well-being. Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m. Saturday - 9:00 a.m. -- 1:00 p.m.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registration (NMLS) to comply with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act).
  • Proven sales skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Experience in customer service, sales, and/or as a telephone representative in a call center environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of critical systems and screens within the 10-week training period including, Automated Loan Processing System (ALPS), Consumer Loan Origination System (C-LO), Credit Bureau screen (CHST), VSA, COL MIF, MAF, CTI, etc. and credit card processor systems including Evolve.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication such as the ability to make clear and concise notes at every point of contact is critical for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college business education.
  • Applicable college courses and/or commensurate experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of CEFCU products and services.
  • Minimum 1 year of previous consumer lending experience.
  • Previous experience in Dealer Direct Lending/Direct Consumer Loans and Sales.
  • Knowledgeable of federal regulations B, E, CC, DD and Z.
  • Knowledge of Department of Motor Vehicles regulations/rules as they pertain to Consumer Lending.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Consumer Loan Origination System (CLOS).
  • Knowledge of CEFCU loan policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Credit Card Act, Truth in Lending (Reg Z) and Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Good Creating Member Loyalty (CML) skills.
  • Bilingual.
