The Director of Aircraft Carrier Engineering (ACE) is responsible for the direct management of the Division which includes Departments E21, E22, E24, E26, E27, E44, E49, E56, E61, E63, and E64. Responsibilities include: Overall technical management, leadership, and performance for design and maintenance activities at NNS including CVN68 Class and CVN78 Class. Shaping the strategy, resourcing, team development, technical customer interface, and technical execution for all engineering operations. Setting and operating to objectives and providing guidance to subordinates based on goals, objectives and Company policy to ensure developed products are innovative (including applicable iDS initiatives), technically correct, meet all specification requirements, support cost reduction objectives, meet first time quality goals, and support the downstream customer's needs. Managing an indirect budget within approved limits while satisfying training, facility, IT, and labor overhead requirements. Directing the manning and direct budget requirements through EVMS and LRM standards such that engineering requirements are met. Ensuring the requirements of Aircraft Carrier Engineering uphold customer standards and requirements even under cost or schedule pressure. Observing in-process work on the deck plates and in offices and ensure that quality and safety standards are being met. Driving clear ownership, accountability, continuous improvement and employee development. Hire/train/assign sufficient diverse engineering resources to support all base and growth work on all contracts. Interfacing successfully with both internal and external customers including all construction departments.
