About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Culinary & Dining Services, the Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of floor management, including food, beverage, equipment, and property to facilitate the fulfillment of financial goals and LifeStar Talent initiatives. In addition, the Dining Room Supervisor cultivates a team environment that provides exceptional residents service while ensuring all staff members perform at a consistently high level. The Dining Room Supervisor also motivates employees, instills accountability, and achieves results to drive success in the position. The Dining Room Supervisor respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors, colleagues and staff. This is a safety sensitive position. It is understood that every incidental duty connected with operations listed in the job description is not always specifically described, and that employees, at the discretion of management, may be required to perform duties not within their job descriptions. Requirements

  • A.S/A.S. degree in Hospitality or related field which may be replaced with experience and/or relevant certifications
  • Diverse background in hospitality leadership with experience in a CCRC or similar retirement community setting
  • Catering and event management experience
  • Proven experience with budgetary and financial management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work with and lead a team composed of a wide range of skills, personalities and cultural backgrounds
  • Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist residents and coworkers.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall management of dining room operations.
  • Plans and develops daily operations.
  • Assists in scheduling, supervising, and participating in the operational duties specific to the unit.
  • Schedules daily work assignments for all dining room personnel, assigning specific jobs and spot checking to ensure standards are met.
  • Recruits, supervises, trains, schedules, disciplines, reviews, and directs the dining room staff.
  • Responds to residents inquiries and resolves residents complaints.
  • Maintains and ensures safe facility environment including standards for maintenance and upkeep of dining room area and wait stations, food production and handling, cooking, housekeeping, sanitation, dress, cash control, and employee hygiene.
  • Notifies Director of Dining and Culinary Services of all unusual events, circumstances, or other safety or quality control issues.
  • Represents LifeStar Talent in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  • Maintains and enhances LifeStar Talents image when interacting with residents, guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Performs opening and/or closing management procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
