About The Position

At Penick Village, dining is an important part of our resident's day, and our servers have the opportunity to have meaningful interactions with residents on a daily basis. We have great opportunities for either full or part-time hours, and days vary with weekend rotations. Students are welcome to apply! The Dining Services Team at Penick Village is seeking reliable, courteous, customer centered Dining Attendants, to join our team. Dining Attendants deliver a dining experience that exceeds expectations of Residents and Guests by providing excellent customer service through dining room waiter service and line service. Ideal candidates will have excellent server, communication and customer service skills; and must actively work as a team. Desired candidates are flexible to work variable shifts, including evening, weekends and holidays. We are looking for applicants who exhibit the following qualities: Reliability Positive Attitude Values Teamwork Loves Serving and Helping Others Primary Responsibility: Responsible for serving residents and visitors in a timely manner with a positive attitude in the dining services department, which includes the Dining Room. The wait staff is also responsible for the upkeep of the dining room ensuring cleanliness and neatness. As part of an interdependent team of skilled and caring people, the Dining Attendant must act in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern Penick Village, to ensure that the highest quality of resident care and safety is always maintained.

Responsibilities

Greet guest as they enter the dining room.
Making coffee and tea.
Take telephone calls for residents ordering meals.
Clearing away dirty dishes for residents; for example, during meals, clearing away dinner plate(s) before resident has dessert.
Resetting tables completely after each meal.
Restocking condiment at each table, including sugar, Sweet-n-Low, Equal, salt and pepper, and vinegar and oil
Vacuuming dining room floor
Serve residents' meals in a professional and timely manner. and resets tables for the next meal.
Respond to guest inquiries and needs with a positive and helpful attitude
Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth dining operations
Pour coffee, hot water and ice water for tray line.
Stocking tray line and front-line refrigerator with proper juices, milks and condiments necessary to run tray line or serve to residents.
Work each of the three tray line positions, serving either hot food, putting on cold foods and condiments, or checking trays for accuracy.
Knowledge of the different diets used at Penick Village, as to differentiate on the tray line and be sure each resident receives the proper foods.
Honor resident request and preferences following tray cards and select menus when working on the tray line.
Keeping the front condiment table filled with condiments fruit, crackers, mints, etc.
Set up the front line for meal service; includes pouring drinks icing up cold bar and filling with fruits, cereals, desserts or salads, whichever items are necessary for each meal.
Answering calls from Nursing concerning any patient trays or missing items and responding immediately, providing necessary items.
Serving residents who are unable to go through the serving line, carrying any trays, pouring coffee, getting any extra items for residents.
Changing tablecloths and resetting tables completely after each meal.
