About The Position

The Four Seasons Resort Lāna’i is looking for a Dining Assistant who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. Our teams have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the Resort and exemplifying the Golden Rule in each interaction. Work authorization required. A Dining Assistant supports the front‑of‑house team by maintaining a clean, organized dining environment and assisting servers to ensure smooth, efficient service. This role helps manage the pace of the meal by removing finished plates and remarking silverware and plates in preparation for upcoming courses, all to enhance the overall guest experience.

Requirements

  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States
  • The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day and scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Holidays and weekends availability is required.
  • Required by the Hawaii State Department of Health to obtain a Tuberculous (TB) clearance card and Hawaii Food Handler’s Card
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts
  • Maintains a guest‑focused mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills, effectively upsells to enhance the guest experience, and demonstrates strong attention to detail while keeping a clean, organized, and well‑stocked workspace

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
  • Clear used dishes, glassware, and utensils promptly during service; wipe down and sanitize tables between guests; reset tables with clean linens, silverware, plates, and condiments; assist with remarking and setting silverware and plateware for subsequent courses; and transport dirty dishes to the kitchen or dishwashing area.
  • Refill water glasses, napkins, and condiments as needed; remove trash; maintain clean, organized side stations; and ensure dining room areas remain clear of used dishes and debris throughout service.
  • Restock supplies and maintain par levels for water, juices, sodas, and non‑alcoholic beverages; demonstrate knowledge of coffee, teas, and specialty after‑dinner drinks with proper setup and service vessels; polish silverware and glassware; set up ice buckets, water stations, and complete all side‑station setup and breakdown before and after service.
  • Assist with clearing and resetting tables during peak periods; support team members during busy service; help set up dining room sections prior to service to optimize guest flow and reservations; and move chairs and tables weighing up to 50 pounds.
