We’re hiring a Dignified Workday Employment and Housing Navigator to join Dignified Workday (DWD) , an innovative program that helps people experiencing housing instability move into real jobs and stable housing. Dignified Workday does things differently by combining paid work, employment coaching, and housing support in a dignity-centered social enterprise model focused on long-term success. In this role, you’ll be in the mix every day, meeting with participants, helping them prepare for work, placing them into jobs and on-the-job training, and walking alongside them as they tackle barriers and hit milestones. You’ll coordinate with employers, housing providers, and community partners in Spokane while tracking progress and providing steady follow-up that helps people stay employed and housed. This position will be full time and the work will be in-person at the Dignified Workday office, headquartered in downtown Spokane, WA. ABOUT THE JOB The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • Experience providing strengths-based case management to individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability, unemployment, or multiple barriers.
  • Knowledge of housing resources, supportive services, employment barriers, job readiness instruction, and work-based learning strategies.
  • Ability to navigate workforce development and housing programs including BFET, FCS, and local homeless services systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust, demonstrate empathy, and engage diverse populations using trauma-informed and harm-reduction approaches.
  • Ability to identify participant strengths and barriers, develop individualized plans, and coach individuals toward vocational and housing goals.
  • Skill in employer engagement, job matching, and supporting participants in meeting on-the-job training requirements.
  • Ability to conduct structured retention follow-up and provide coaching for up to 12 months after employment.
  • Exceptional accuracy in documentation, case notes, and data entry; ability to meet compliance requirements across multiple MIS databases (EJAS, Reliatrax, HMIS, and others).
  • Ability to follow highly detailed program regulations, timelines, and funding-specific documentation and billing requirements, including FCS billing processes.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage individual caseload outcomes and deadlines.
  • Effective problem solving, crisis response, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and communicate clearly, respectfully, and in ways participants fully understand.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software platforms, databases, and technology tools used in workforce and housing programs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, cultural humility, and creating an inclusive environment.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in: Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Work, Communication, Education, Workforce Development, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Services’ related field. Two years of experience in workforce development may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Experience in case management, workforce development or housing services.
  • Requires advanced level use of: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; LinkedIn, and other business-related networking applications, as appropriate.
  • Must be able to work in a culturally diverse and fast-paced environment and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and cultural competency.
  • Daily availability of personal vehicle or alternate method of transportation sufficient to meet the daily transportation requirements of the position is a condition of employment. Copies of driver's license and auto liability insurance coverage is required for personnel file at time of hire and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Program Enrollment and Participant Assessment Determine eligibility and appropriateness for Dignified Workday enrollment. Recruit, evaluate, and screen candidates for program participation. Explain program expectations and participation requirements to new enrollees.
  • Employment and Housing Case Management Provide strengths-based case management for individuals experiencing employment and housing instability. Support participants in identifying strengths, addressing barriers, and developing strategies for vocational and housing success. Assist with employment preparation, job readiness instruction, career navigation, and job search activities. Provide job matching support and coordinate placement into employment and work-based learning opportunities. Support participants in maintaining on-the-job training requirements. Assist participants in accessing medical, behavioral health, and supportive services as needed. Deliver case management under BFET, FCS, and Spokane City Homeless Services program requirements. Provide case management for the Dignified Workday transitional housing program, supporting progress toward permanent housing. Help participants navigate housing resources, applications, and referral processes. Ensure participant choice and match opportunities to interests, backgrounds, and goals.
  • Retention and Follow-Up Conduct structured follow-up with participants, OJT supervisors, and instructors to provide coaching and support that maximizes job retention. Maintain ongoing communication and support for up to 12 months after hire.
  • Employer, Community, and Partner Engagement Build and maintain partnerships with employers, industry groups, WorkSource Spokane, housing providers, and other community partners. Collaborate with partner agencies to support participant needs and expand employment and housing opportunities. Develop job opportunities and local employer relationships that support successful placements.
  • Data Management, Documentation, and Reporting Maintain accurate case notes, service plans, enrollment documentation, program-related expenditures, and exit outcomes. Ensure timely and accurate data entry across multiple MIS systems including EJAS, Reliatrax, and HMIS. Maintain required client files in both electronic and hard-copy formats. Update databases to track program outcomes and generate billing for the Foundational Community Supports program.
  • General Operational Support Dynamically support other DWD operational needs as they arise. Perform all other duties as assigned.
