About The Position

Provide support to the Marketing Department by assisting with projects related to marketing strategies, branding, archiving and social media campaigns while adhering to the District’s safety and administrative policies and procedures. Knowledge, Skills & Experience This position is well suited for someone with a friendly and positive personality who is productive and organized.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and a valid driver’s license are required.
  • Must be detail oriented and show initiative to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in writing skills and computer knowledge including Windows Office Software and social media platforms.
  • Must have or complete CPR/AED/First Aid Certification and Mandated Reporter Certification within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred.
  • Course work in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar products and/or WordPress preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with website improvements including editing HTML, creating posts and updating photos.
  • Oversee the monthly content features of the District’s websites.
  • Oversee the quarterly program posts and cleanup of outdated information on all websites.
  • Assist with social media management including monitoring and creating posts.
  • Assist with photo and video content creation for specific marketing purposes.
  • Attend events and activities for strategic planning initiatives as needed.
  • Assist with social media campaign updates, as directed.
  • Update promotions on community screens across the District.
  • Update spreadsheets, databases and inventories of marketing and District information.
  • Understand and carry out assigned oral and written instructions.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Follow all safety procedures that pertain to duties involved and support all aspects of the Park District Safety Program.
  • Prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
