About The Position

The Digital Marketing Director is a leader on the Digital Marketing Solutions team and within the agency and is responsible for defining channel activation and engagement strategies that effectively segment and target audiences to amplify brand awareness and grow demand. Works with account teams, cross-functional teams, and clients to sell, lead, oversee, develop, and implement integrated marketing strategies that harness the power of search, social, web, and paid media.  Leverages reporting and analytics to make data-driven optimizations that improve outcomes. Manages a team of social media and digital marketing associates who contribute to digital marketing work on assigned accounts.  Provides direction and oversight to digital marketing work while facilitating integration and strategic account growth.  Supports operations within the Digital Marketing Solutions team and assigned accounts.  Candidates for this position must have at least 7 years experience in hands-on digital marketing, preferably in an agency environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, or a related field. 
  • Strong understanding of the digital landscape, including organic and paid social media, paid media, search, web, email, and other channels.
  • At least 7 to 10 years of full-time experience in digital marketing, advertising, or public relations — 5+ years of which include experience developing custom digital marketing strategies and tactics within an agency environment. 
  • In-depth knowledge of integrated marketing and digital marketing disciplines.
  • Ability to innovate and solve problems: looking for ideas through analytics, technology, trends, and audience insights to influence brand/marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of best practices across multiple channels (PESO).
  • Ability to work across multiple disciplines for shared communication objectives. 
  • Long-term view and growth mindset. 
  • Superior communication skills, both client-facing and internal. 
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for interactive, social, and mobile solutions and knowledge of how to leverage each to achieve marketing goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and client management skills.  
  • Proven track record of leading, mentoring, and managing associates. 

Responsibilities

  • Works alongside cross-functional agency teams to sell, lead, and oversee the planning and execution of fully integrated digital marketing strategies and solutions—social (paid and organic) and search (paid, organic and AI)—that deliver on our clients’ business and marketing objectives.
  • Optimizes web content by utilizing data-driven insights to enhance user experience, increase online visibility, and achieve strategic business goals.
  • Partners with Experience and Technology team on email marketing, website/landing page optimizations and development and other emerging technologies.
  • Partners with Client Services to define scope and recommended approach for digital marketing projects.
  • Leads and oversees the development of relevant analytics reports, including analysis and recommendations across all channels for defined programs. 
  • Leads and oversees auditing of clients’ existing digital marketing efforts and develops strategies and tactics for optimization. 
  • Leads digital marketing efforts and delegates tasks to other social media, paid media, and digital marketing team members as appropriate.
  • Identifies key digital trends and insights to make business decisions.
  • Leverages research tools and data to form strategic approaches that are driven by actionable insights. 
  • Provides strong strategic planning support for accounts with a focus on digital marketing integrations. 
  • Identifies organic growth opportunities within assigned accounts and supports the development of proposals to bring forward new ideas.
  • Supports agency new business pitches with strategic and tactical planning, budgeting support, and in-person presentations. 
  • Supports agency digital marketing solutions efforts as needed, including contributing to THRIVE internal training, and team training.
  • Has experience working with B2B brands, demonstrating a strong understanding of their unique marketing needs and challenges.
  • Leads and champions the adoption of AI and emerging technologies to improve efficiency across day-to-day digital initiatives.
  • Completes timesheet daily.
  • Other relevant duties to the position as assigned.
