About The Position

The Digital Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of the University’s digital marketing strategies. This role coordinates the development of creative, audience-focused content to strengthen and expand the University’s digital presence across platforms. The Coordinator brings a foundational understanding of SEO best practices, HTML coding, and online marketing strategies, and applies these skills to optimize content performance, enhance visibility, and support institutional marketing goals. This position is under the general supervision of the Director of Marketing and Alumni Affairs, responsible for 1 shift, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. Incumbents are subject to hours beyond the normal workday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing, advertising, technology, or related fields.
  • One (1) year or more work experience in the field of communications, higher education, advertising, technology or related fields.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years or more work experience in the field of communications, higher education, advertising, technology or related fields.
  • Understanding of SEO, html coding, Drupal web content management system and marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital marketing strategies for BHSU in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Alumni Affairs.
  • Create, coordinate, maintain, and publish compelling digital content across the University’s websites, social media, and other digital marketing platforms, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement with target audiences.
  • Enforce brand and content standards by acting as the University’s digital content ambassador by fostering ongoing engagement and promoting best practices across web and social channels.
  • Serve as the primary website content editor and main point of contact for internal stakeholders, managing content updates, workflow, and quality assurance.
  • Identify and pursue innovative opportunities to expand the University’s digital marketing footprint, staying current with emerging trends and technologies.
  • Oversee digital communications responsiveness, acting as the University’s social media and website response team to ensure timely, professional, and effective engagement.
  • Coordinate photography and videography initiatives, managing visual content production to support marketing campaigns, events, and storytelling efforts across University channels.
  • Performs related other responsibilities as assigned or directed.
