About The Position

The Digital Marketing & Content Designer is responsible for developing and executing Transit Management of Alexandria’s (DASH) digital strategy. Responsibilities include brand management, social media management, content creation, graphic design, and website management. The ideal candidate is a highly creative individual with a strong understanding of digital trends and a passion for storytelling to engage the public and drive brand awareness. This position requires a collaborative approach to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve DASH’s marketing and communication goals.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite), digital marketing tools, social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube), Google Analytics, Hootsuite, and WordPress.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong knowledge, experience, and skills in graphic design, photography, and videography.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital trends.
  • Experience and strong knowledge in digital marketing and website management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer support and customer relations skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude.
  • Passion for storytelling and creating engaging content.

  • Ability to lift up to <50 lbs such as storage boxes, photography equipment, materials for marketing events (signs, posters, giveaways), and other equipment as needed.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous marketing and/or design experience.
  • Experience with WordPress or similar web content management systems.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud or similar design software.
  • Experience in social media management and content creation.

  • Experience in professional photography and videography.
  • Any combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of advanced education.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Amharic.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes DASH's social media strategy across platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube) to increase engagement and reach.
  • Creates engaging and visually appealing content (images, videos, and graphics) for social media and DASH’s website.
  • Creates and updates the digital media content calendar, ensuring timely and relevant content delivery.
  • Monitors social media analytics and website performance to measure success and develop strategy adjustments.
  • Builds and maintains a strong online community through interaction with followers by responding to comments and messages in a timely manner.
  • Safeguards and promotes DASH's brand identity across all digital and print materials.
  • Develops and maintains brand guidelines and style guides to ensure consistency in brand messaging and visual representation.
  • Designs and produces a variety of marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, posters, bus ads, and Ride Guides.
  • Manages DASH’s website, ensuring content is up-to-date, user-friendly, and visually appealing.
  • Leads the production process for print and digital materials, including vendor collaboration and quality control.
  • Creates advertising materials for DASH buses, maintains an advertisement inventory, and supports the Advertising Program.
  • Provides communications support during emergency response. Emergencies include but are not limited to extreme weather and climate events, major road closures, significant adjustments in transportation services, and accidents/incidents.
  • Supports the coordination of events and meetings as needed.
  • Cooperatively and effectively performs other related duties and tasks as assigned.
