Practice Overview – Automated Digital Lab Consulting (ADLC) Automated Digital Lab Consulting (ADLC) is Thermo Fisher’s advisory practice focused on transforming traditional laboratories into autonomous, data‑driven environments. We combine lab‑automation hardware, Thermo Fisher™ Connect cloud software, and advanced analytics—powered by AI/ML—to accelerate scientific discovery and manufacturing. Our consultants guide clients through every step of this journey: envisioning strategy, redesigning processes, deploying integrated platforms and ensuring sustainable change. Position Overview As a Digital Lab Transformation Analyst you will join multidisciplinary teams that deliver next‑generation digital laboratory solutions for pharmaceutical, biotech, and industrial clients. You will receive structured training on consulting methodologies, laboratory‑automation technologies and Thermo Fisher digital platforms before rotating through workstreams such as workflow discovery, requirements analysis, data integration, validation and user adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree completed by start date in Life or Physical Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Academic or internship experience with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, C# or SQL).
  • Demonstrated interest in laboratory automation, digital transformation or scientific software through coursework, projects or internships.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to client sites up to 75–100% when required.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands‑on experience working in an academic or industry lab with automated instruments or digital LIMS/ELN workflows.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of GxP regulations, CSV/CSA or laboratory quality systems.
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem‑solving skills; collaborative team mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in client workshops to map current‑state laboratory workflows, identify pain points and capture user stories.
  • Analyze process, instrument and data flow information to support design of future‑state automated workflows.
  • Assist with configuration and testing of robotics workcells, Thermo Fisher™ Connect orchestration and LIMS/ELN integrations.
  • Develop draft deliverables—including process maps, requirements traceability matrices and slide‑deck storyboards—for senior consultants.
  • Support data‑migration, master‑data setup and computer‑system validation activities in GxP‑regulated environments.
  • Conduct user‑acceptance testing, document defects and collaborate with developers on resolution and retest.
  • Prepare training materials, run‑books and quick‑reference guides; provide hyper‑care support during go‑live.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of ADLC accelerators, templates and knowledge repositories.
