The Digital Engine Owner (DEO) role is focused on collaborating with multiple disciplines to deliver lightweight 3D models of Digital Engines for spatial integration and assembly tasks across the business and with customers. This role will provide a seamless flow of product design information between engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and services operations. The DEO will be responsible for monitoring digital engine metrics and must continuously work to ensure the quality and integrity of the models contained therein. Frequent communication with all contributors to the digital engine, as well as with outside customers and partners, is essential to the success of this role. The DEO must be fully aware of the data flow into and out of the digital engine throughout the design and production life cycle and must be significantly knowledgeable of the engine components and engine architecture in order to effectively aid in the design collaboration processes, both within GE Aerospace and with our partners and customers. The Digital Engine Collaboration team is responsible for the management and collaboration of the data within the Digital Engines across all commercial, military, business & general aviation and marine applications. The Digital Engine, also referred to as the Digital Pre-Assembly (DPA) or Digital Mockup (DMU), is a tool that serves multiple consumers. It is the single source of truth for the design and support communities to visualize and work with the CAD assembly data for GE Aerospace products. The successful design collaboration among all the global teams who participate in the process of bringing a new aircraft and propulsion system to the market hinges on the virtual product integration of the Digital Engine. The team of Digital Engine Owners (DEO’s) strives to maintain the integrity of the data contained within the Digital Engine assemblies in order to support the extended design team with the vital data they need.
