About The Position

The Dietitian Specialist 3 demonstrates expertise in completing inpatient and/or outpatient nutritional assessments and reassessments. This role involves working collaboratively with the health care team to implement nutrition interventions and coordinate the nutrition care of the patient. The specialist provides specialized nutrition education to patients and family members, and works as a team with dietitians, dietetic technicians, and diet aides to improve performance standards. Responsibilities also include providing in-services/lectures to clinical staff, mentoring clinical dietitians and other health care team members to improve performance standards, participating in educating dietetic and medical students, and serving as a consultant for physicians. Assigned duties may include inpatient, outpatient, and/or clinic settings, participation in out-patient group nutrition classes as assigned, and fulfillment of appointments when referrals are received. The position also involves performing other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or Nutrition-related field
• Three years of clinical nutrition experience
• Expert knowledge of clinical nutrition in area of specialty
• Handling/gripping, speed movements, fine dexterity, writing and speaking skills necessary for the job
• Able to read
• Able to write legibly
• Able to speak in English with professional quality
• Able to use computer and software programs necessary to the position
• Able to troubleshoot and calibrate office equipment
• Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
• Able to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies

• Board Certified Specialty certification in specialty area
• CCS Paneling (must be obtained within first year of hire)

Nice To Haves

• One year in Pediatrics
• Experience in two different specialty clinics
• Spanish speaking preferred
