Plans & evaluates meals for regular, modified & special diets taking into consideration available foodstuffs, nutritional values & cost involved to ensure compliance with state & federal regulations, treatment plans & accreditation standards. Visits residents & conducts interviews for dietary history & preferences; counsels’ residents on diets. Inspects perishable foods for nutritional composition & quality & checks to ensure proper storage & rotation is utilized to preserve food value. Consults with Nursing Home Administrator, Dietary Supervisors and Dietetic Tech to establish plans & procedures for dietary program. Instructs food service personnel in basic dietetic principles, trains employees in quality standards, sanitation & storage. Coordinates & maintains communication between dietary department & medical staff. Recommends changes in dietetic program as needed. Oversees ordering of food & supplies from vendors (e.g., paper products, dry goods, frozen food, vegetables, utensils, cookware, sanitation sup-plies, etc.). Prepares related records & reports Attends & conducts staff meetings; meets with Dietary Supervisors, dietetic technician to discuss changes &/or modifications; attends committee meetings. All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Current licensure as dietitian as issued by Ohio Board of Dietetics per Section 4759.06 of Revised Code
  • 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in state & federal guidelines & accreditation standards regarding dietetics/nutrition for agency of employment
  • 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in employee training & development
  • Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience requirements, but not for the mandated licensure.
