About The Position

KBR is seeking a Fire Inspector to support the Fire Safety and Fire Prevention efforts for the SEHP project. The Fire Inspector will assist the Assistant Chief (AC) for Fire Prevention in conducting fire safety assessments, inspections, and training. The role also includes ensuring the mitigation of fire risks, ensuring fire department access roads remain unobstructed, and performing other fire safety-related duties to ensure the safety of both civilian and military personnel. Minimum of two years’ experience as a firefighter and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a fire inspector.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. or UK Citizen.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a fire inspector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with clients, internal departments, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a government driver’s license.

  • Certification in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Airfield Vehicle Operators Certificate (AVOC).
  • Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Training from the American Red Cross.
  • DoD/IFSAC/Pro Board - Fire Inspector I, II.
  • DoD/IFSAC/Pro Board - HAZMAT Awareness.
  • DoD/IFSAC/Pro Board - Public Fire and Life Safety Educator.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical or vocational course graduate is preferred.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Fire Inspector must attend and complete the NFPA 101 Life Safety Course.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fire safety assessments at facilities and exterior locations.
  • Complete facility inspection records and document fire safety deficiencies and code violations.
  • Conduct re-inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers as required.
  • Provide fire extinguisher training and fire warden training as necessary.
  • Issue Hot Work Permits for projects involving hazardous activities.
  • Conduct fire prevention indoctrination and awareness programs for both civilian and military personnel.
  • Lead fire drills and exit drills to ensure preparedness.
  • Identify, document, and mitigate fire risks in a timely manner.
  • Participate in Fire Prevention Week activities as directed by the supervisor.
  • Ensure fire department access roads remain clear throughout the project, including the identification of alternate response routes.
  • Maintain clear access to fire hydrants during construction or project work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to fire prevention and safety.
