The purpose of this position is to assist in fire prevention activities to safeguard public safety, health, and general welfare. General duties include conducting fire prevention inspections; examines buildings to detect hazardous conditions or violations of fire laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards; issues notices for corrections; conducts re-inspections as needed. Reviews plans and specifications for proposed construction and remodeling plans to ensure compliance with state and local fire and building code requirements. Inspects and/or test fire protection and/or fire detections systems to verify that systems are installed in accordance with laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards.
